Can a landlord evict someone for no reason in New York?

This question is about New York Eviction Process

Yes, in New York a landlord can evict someone “for no reason” if a written lease agreement has expired or if there is no lease. Landlords do not need an additional reason to end the tenancy, but they must provide proper written notice and go through the formal court eviction process; they cannot forcibly remove a tenant on their own.
